First I want to thank everyone who commented on my last post. All the kind words really meant a lot to my addled brain.

I did not make it out of New York yesterday. My day culminated in me crying in the middle of LaGuardia. One of those cries where you want to bawl and sob but you can't so you're all chocked up and can't really talk. Yeah, that was me.

My parents finally wised up to the fact that I was not doing so hot and my dad dropped everything to buy me a ticket home today. I really do have the best dad. :)

So here I am sitting in LaGuardia again, this time I'm sort of well rested (I can't sleep when my male roommate is around as I stay up all night listening to him snore, punching the mattress above me and glaring in his general direction). He's leaving in two days though. Thank God.

But yes, I will make it home today. I'm technically supposed to stay in New York and finish off my one day of reserve but I've had it. I've worked three weeks straight, I'm on the verge of coming down with a cold, I'm worn out. All I want it my own room with my own big bed and my big fat cuddly cat.

As of 9 this evening I should have it.

Isn't Holiday Travel the best? :)

Yet again, thanks to everyone who kept me sane yesterday. I REALLY appreciate it.
Getting to Albania yesterday proved to be more difficult then I thought it would be. We were supposed to get in by 3 at the latest but by the time we arrived it was 4 hours past that and dark. Meaning the photo opportunities were few and far between.

That still did not prevent us from wandering out and about and finding a place to have a few drinks. Amazingly enough I did have a drink. Explaining the concept of tequila shots with salt and lime to people who've never heard of drinking them that way and don't really speak english is all kinds of fun *g*

Really I'm only really posting right now because I feel guilty as hell that I'm not walking around with my camera taking photos since it's morning and it's bright and sunny and I only have 3 more hours till report time that will consist of a really long work day.

Lets just say... it's 4:30 in the morning in New York right now. According to my schedule I won't even get in to JFK until 3:25 in the morning. Y Hallo Thar 20 Hour work day.

This should at least give me plenty of time to make some headway in The Origin of the Species by Charles Darwin. I'm determined to finish it before Christmas. And what with the way the military needs looking after on long flights (as in they don't because they're too busy snoring and drooling on each other) I should have ample time to read.

And then I face my one day of reserve. I'm very bitter about this as it's preventing me from going home earlier then I would like. It's very simple, were I to stay in New York work would not need me. Were I to leave early for Texas I am bound to get a phone call saying I need to be at the airport in an hour. So I'm staying in New York for half the reserve and going home to Texas halfway through. THEY HAD BETTER NOT CALL!

Oh, I also watched Merlin on a whim. SO FREAKING GOOD. And even though I can see why everyone is going gaga over Merlin/Arthur. I still don't slash it. Maybe someday but I just want happy friendship stuff and boy howdy does it deliver. The UK really does make the good crack

The name of the town we're staying in is Tirana and it's throwing me off. It you were to swap the places of the first I and the first A you'd have my name. I keep seeing Tirana out of the corner of my eye and being all "why is my name on everything?!?!" It's somewhat amusing :)
