Episode Ramblings

So, was I imagining things or during the SG1 200th episode preview were Cam and Teal'c dressed like Star Trek characters and ordering the ship to go to Warp speed? Because I swear to god I saw that, and that really... well, weirds me out and makes me laugh.
I know Ben Browder is probably having a blast on Stargate, running around shooting guns and playing the sci-fi hero. I just wish they'd use him better, he's got so much talent and you really can't tell with the material he's given. I miss Farscape :( He never really stands out on Stargate, he was fun in The Pegasus Project, what with all the lemon waving and stuff.
I for one loved the lemon bits. It also cracks me up that fandom had to go and get all bent out of shape over it. Oh god a lemon, the horror. Last time I checked, both McKay and Sheppard were guys and from what I've seen of men they pull stupid stunts like that on each other all the time. Actually, I'd rather they do stupid stuff like that, because as soon as I see them having a heart to heart and going on about their feelings I'm outta here. Also, the scene with Sheppard and Mitchell was very very pretty (too bad Ronon wasn't in that scene, now that would have been teh pretty. Mmmmm... Ronon...) Ronon and Teal'c need to meet, I imagine that scene would amuse me greatly.
On the subject of Irresistible, I'm about to the point where every time I see peasant people I'm just going to shut my eyes and groan. I don't remember a single ep full of peasant people that was any good (The Tower? Epiphany? anyone? anyone?)
The only thing I've ever seen Richard Kind in was the Stargate movie where he played the Archaeologist in charge before Daniel Jackson took over and so seeing him as some sort of wannabe Casanova was quite bizarre (and gross). And the acting in this ep, honestly, was not that good. I love Beckett, but his fanboying could use some work. And the elixir-poisoning thing McKay did to Sheppard (or whatever it's being called) I had no clue it was such a big deal until I actually came online. This fandom really is cracktastic, the show isn't that controversial, but damnit, there will be controversy! I actually thought the McKay/Shep slash crowd would have been pleased in the 'see McKay really wants Shep kind of way' but I can also see how it could be construed as kind of creepy when taken in that light. So I'm going to go with, it was a dumb guy joke, that shouldn't have been done, but this is McKay and he has no idea what going too far is. But alas, this is fandom, and rationality can be hard to find.
And did the preview I saw for next weeks SG1 ep hint that this might be the end of Sam Carter? (It won't be, but for me, it's a happy thought. I've never been a fan). If they'd only bring Jack back, and get rid of Daniel and Sam I'd be so deliriously happy. I tried doing the Sam/Jack ship at one point, but she just annoyed me so much I could never get into it. She just comes off as too perfect, and it drives me batty: she's smart, she's beautiful, she's talented, all the men love her. Gyah!
I clearly have Sam issues.
This may be a new favorite show, clocking in after Farscape and Doctor Who. It's got a warped sense of humor and I'm loving the Sheriff. He's such a normal guy in a not so normal town and he really doesn't know what to make of that. I still need to see the first ep, but judging from the last two I think I'm really going to enjoy this show (hopefully Skiffy won't screw this up like they have others *cough*Farscape*cough*)
The re-imagining of A Mid-Summer Night's Dream as a Mid-Summer Night's Invasion was hysterical, and I really wish someone would make that into an actual play. Shakespeare as sci-fi. Hee!
I really need to quit eating all the food I bought for my trip tomorrow. And now that I think about it I should pack too...
And please dear lord, let the hotel have an internet connection.
Oh hey,
