I'm back in the South!!

*falls to the ground and clutches it tightly*

I could wax lyrical about what a great relief it is to be in the land of southern drawls and hospitality and good mexican food. Unfortunately, I've got no time to spend in Boloxi outside of eating a meal, checking my e-mail and going to sleep. It's up bright and early in the morning to ferry our wonderful military over to Germany (where my trip ends for the next 36 hours) and then onto Kuwait. After doing Africa trips last month this one will be a relief. There's a world of difference between military passengers and commercial passengers. All the military wants it something to eat, something to drink and to be left alone because they will sleep for the entire flight (usually in extremely odd contortions that result in having to clamber over limbs without trying to wake them up - my last flight I ended up with dust all over my pants from their boots from all the clambering)

I'm hoping to get into Berlin and maybe possibly Prague while I'm in Germany. My purser is talking about renting a car and driving into Prague but my mother is telling me that when they were in Germany they had to swear not to take the rental car into the Eastern Bloc, so we shall see what happens (Personally, I like trains. You don't have to deal with parking and driving and all sorts of other hassles.)

Well, I'm off. Gotta get up at 4:30 in the morning. *groans*

Well, at least you're back in the land of manners, drawls, and decent food.

And I'm glad I don't have your life. You tire me out just reading about that schedule.

It's so wonderful being here! I don't want to go back north *pouts*

This is not for everyone. I'm just crazy enough to want to sight see rather then sleep. Although it's pretty damn funny when everyone is so sleep deprived that people start getting delirious.

The actual schedule is even better. We go from Mississippi to New York to Ireland to Germany, 36 hours in Germany, from Germany to Kuwait, Kuwait to Germany, 56 hours in Germany, Germany to Kuwait, Kuwait to Germany, 19 hours in Germany and then Germany to JFK. *phew*

*pats* Move back South soon then. Plenty of camping grounds down here.

I'd rather sleep. *grins* Terminal laziness, if you will. My bed is much more comfortable than heat or chilliness.

Holy CRAP. I'm so, so glad I don't have that schedule. That just took about six hours of sleep off my schedule. *laugh*

Once I get through with world travel I am so trucking my ass back down here where people are sane.

I'm sure it's much more comfortable then a seat in a plane as well! :)

Yeah, I'm anticipating not sleeping for a good 24 hours when I wake up tomorrow morning. With that, I'm off to go enjoy what little sleep I can before my looooong day begins

*laugh* Well, I wouldn't go calling us sane, my dear. We're just more merry about the insanity.

I don't know. I always get a lot of sleep in a plane. Better than on earth.

Oh goodness. 24 hours?!! That's just wrong. *laugh* Sleep well.

I'm so conflicted! I'm both happy and sad for you! It's good to imagine you back on Southern soil, but so sad you have to leave so soon.

Randomly, I can't hear the word "Mississippi" without thinking of D'Argo mispronouncing it, and my favorite silly Farscape icon:
