The future... or something like that.

I love my job. I like the passengers and the travel and the whole crazy random schedule. I do not love being constantly screwed over month after month money wise. For the past 5 months it's been a constant battle to get enough hours to make enough money to survive let alone get my out of credit card debt.
And therein lies the problem. I HAVE to be out of credit card debt before I can move back west because I can't afford a car and credit card debt so it's one or the other but not both.
As I don't have a car my job options are rather limited even in NYC. So, I'm going to tough out one more year at my company. I've got 10 months to figure out what to do next. I informed the mom today that I was quitting in a year and even she was befuddled over what I should pursue after having given up the mantle of "flight attendant." I have one option I'm exploring but I'm giving myself a full 10 months to explore it before I do anything crazy.
I shall divulge no further details besides that of I qualify but the Lasik eye surgery I had a year and a half ago may disqualify me. We shall see...
I also learned, on my last flight, that you can be a 4 Star General (highest rank in the military), have awesome weapons capabilities and almost unlimited manpower at your fingertips, be in charge of military operations within the scope of 92 countries and your wife will still make you put all the bags into the overhead bins and then take the window seat.
