Really Random Stuff

This post is made completely of random. And because random things go better with random pictures... Here, have a photo of military dudes acting dumb (the things they do to entertain themselves... oy!)


If you didn't notice, he really did shove cups down his shirt. :)

1. Yesterday was an R&R flight which was nice. There were 76 passengers on a plane that seats 273. Even better was the fact that R&R flights have no weapons on board and no battle rattle. yay! I didn't have to fight the "stow your weapons and armor the correct way and I KNOW you know which way is the butt of that rifle, soldier" fight. It was easy peasy, just the way I like it.

2. We're doing a Kuwait turn today. Brutal, brutal trip. I'm jet lagged and waking up at odd hours. This will end well.

3. On the plus side of doing a Kuwait turn, there's a Subway shop on the military side and I fully intend to wipe out their chocolate chip cookie supply as soon as I get there (and woe be it to the Air Force if they beat me to it first.)

5. We're going to be arriving in Kuwait in the middle of the afternoon when it will be a bazillion degrees out.

6. I've been going through the German Rosetta Stone. Wonderful, wonderful program. I somehow ended up with the English Rosetta Stone on my computer and I'm halfway tempted to fire it up, go to the hardest bit and see how I do. This may be an indicator of just how bored I am.

7. My crew amuses me. Out of 8 people, only 2 of us were actually born in the states and out of the two of us: one is a first generation American (family from Barbados). We've got... 2 Guyanese, 2 Slovaks, 1 Trinidadian and 1 Cuban. Mix well and liberally with the United States Military and its somewhat amusing. I love diversity.

8. David Tennant is continuing on as the 10th Doctor into season 5 Yay! Maybe they'll shut up about Robert Carlisle now. I was never thrilled with that rumor. Also, DT took them to the bank. Nice.

At least that's what the article says. I'll feel better when I see official confirmation. Anyone run across that yet?


9. This post was brought to you by the number 3. As in 3 in the morning. When I woke up. When I say "brought to you by"... it's really code for "blame this post on..."

Yeah, that's totally not creepy DT. Really. But yay for making them pay out. DW is a huge draw so they can afford it.

I am entirely amused by the fact that who DT is dating comes before all the information about him coming back.

We must have priorities you know.

And didn't we have that discussion about how DT just waits for Doctor Who's casting department to pick out the next young blonde thing for him instead of actually doing any work himself?

Well, it's creepy! He's dating someone that is his on-screen daughter and what, 15 years his junior? Good lord, son. At least date someone in the same decade! Less creepy! Very less creepy! And he does wait.

Typical casting call: "Young, 20 something blonde, willing to date lead actor, doesn't mind massive amounts of mind-boggling that public shows. Acting skills secondary."

Key word there is "on screen" daughter. So, it could be worse *G* I find the whole thing slightly hysterical myself. Plus, I've seen worse age gaps (that have left me BEGGING for brain bleach.)

HA! Add in the whole fanboy thing of dating the daughter of the 5th Doctor and you know he couldn't resist.

Well, yeah. On screen, but still! Technically, she could be his daughter. Okay, think of it this way: she's younger than us. Ruminate on that for a minute.

Dude, you know that was his second thought: "She's hot! She's a Doctor's actual daughter!" *snort* Oh, lord above.

He's a man. We can't expect him to be intelligent about these things.

I've been wondering about that Rosetta Stone software! My husband and I keep talking about getting it. (We want to learn German, French, and Japanese.) Is it pricey?

It's very pricey. From what I've seen every language comes in 3 different sets and to get all of them is around $500, individually they are around $200.

I was wanting to get it for forever but the price kept throwing me off. I got mine through... less then reputable means.

If you do manage to get ahold of them, they are AMAZING.
