This post is brought to you by the fact that I really just want to see "Burkina Faso" in my location tag.

I've been working more then my usual amount this much which has led to a perpetual state of exhaustion. I tend to just lurk when I'm this tired. I kind of had a mini freak out last month when I realized that Comic Con was just around the corner and that while I may have my housing and air fare taken care of I had absolutely no money for extras. (Hello Doctor Who merch, you will be MINE!)

If anyone is wondering... Burkina Faso is a landlocked country in West Africa. We're staying in the capital city of Ouagadougou. I've yet to figure out how to pronounce it and as everyone here speaks French...

In the few years I've not been to Africa, I completely forgot what it was like. In which I mean I completely forgot how freaking hot it is. I've since been reminded.

Work sprung this one and everyone on the crew was like "um, where?"

I'm happy to say it was a great experience although I wish we'd had more time. We never do get to leave the city and see how people actually live. I will definitely check our your friend's blog!

From what I hear, Burkina Faso is like, trash bag city. It's a very poor county, idk, there really may not be that much to see.

She said Ghana is really cool though!

It was really poor. It's not the worst I've seen in Africa (Avoid Nigeria at all costs), in fact it did remind me of Ghana a bit in that you could go outside and be relatively safe and the people were so friendly. No matter where I go I just love to see how the natives live - rich, poor, I just love to travel and the weirder the place is the better.

And she is dead right about Ghana. :)

Someday I'll go to Africa and it won't be for work. I'll have time to take pictures and interact with people and see the wildlife. Someday!

We were only there for a little less then a day. Enough time to go out and do something but not enough time to really enjoy the place. Sadly it was SO hot that getting good rest was difficult.

I WILL HAVE MY DW MERCH!!!
