Just a little mixed up...

Wow. I completely got my Torchwood episodes mixed up. See what happens when you remain completely unspoiled and the people providing the downloads forget to mention which episode is 1 and which episode is 2 or even that there are two episodes. The reasons for my suprise are now evident because I did think episode 2, which I thought was episode 1, was an interesting choice for a very first episode.

This would have been so much easier if America didn't have to wait forever to get episodes from the BBC to air over here. Grrrr.

My first question is: what happened to my gore tolerance? This is like nothing and I'm over here cringing. I must have misplaced it somewhere.

I do like that they are tying him in with The Empty Child arc and pointing out that a Captain Jack Harkness is only on record in WWII. Adds to his mystery and makes me happy.

God, my whole suprise over the second episode and thinking it was the first is making so much more sense now.

Oh look, Doctor's hand. They sure are driving that one home. Of course I'm probably only saying that because I saw the second ep first and got to watch Jack moon all over it.

Is the Pterodactyl the official Torchwood pet, because if so... can I work there? Puh-lease!

Soooo, there was a chameleon circuit placed right on that spot. Hmmmm, wonder how he knows that one?

Drugs in the water system. Russel T. Davies really was a BtVS fan wasn't he? The excuses he comes up with for people to ignore aliens reminds me so much of the Gangs on PCP excuse Joss Whedon used.

When Jack says they are seperate from the government... Is this a recent occurence to people like Harriet Jones can't systematically decided they want to blow up orbiting alien ships? And if they are seperate who do they take their orders from? Who provides the checks and balances so Torchwood doesn't get all power hungry since they are independent of all these places (Although, It would be nice, being independent of the government...)

Very strange man in Glasgow. Is that a reference to something I'm missing or is it just nothing?

Jack Harkness has his very own amnesia pill. I'm not surprised. Actually, considering that Jack had 2 years of his life wiped from his memory I would have thought that he would have been more abhorent about wiping other people's memories.

Owen's lopsided lips still weird me out. He kinda reminds me of a duck.

Um wow. Owen appears to be just as ravenous as Jack sexually. That should be interesting.

She shot Jack! Oh dude. Super-Jack! Not only does he have the super-love-kiss but he also has super healing abilities. God, Rose practically made him indestructible didn't she?

"One day I'll find a Doctor, the right sort of Doctor and maybe he can explain" ZOMG! I can't wait for THAT ep!

Now that I've seen the actual first episode I like this show a whole hell of a lot more then I initially did. It's kinda embarassing that I mixed up the two but my whole unspoiled state and lack of information where factors working against me. I would definitely recommend that you try not to get people to watch the show by introducing them to it to through the first episode. That just leads to confusion.
