White Christmas
Dec. 25th, 2007 05:06 pmMerry Christmas folks. I hope ya'll are having as great a Christmas as I am. The presents are unwrapped, there are enticing smells wafting from the kitchen and it feels like Elizabeth, Colorado was attacked by a Norman Rockwell painting.
It's been snowing all day and it is BEAUTIFUL
We went for a little hike earlier through the woods so I thought I'd gift ya'll with my White Christmas no matter where ya'll are.

This is the view from the kitchen window. You can't look out any windows in this house without being knocked over by how pretty everything seems to be outside.

It's a monochromatic world out there... I enjoyed, and am still enjoying, every moment of it.

A little walk through the woods... There was snow on the ground previous to this. Now it's just deeper and fluffier.

At the edge of the woods and the edge of my Aunt's property.

It's a winter wonderland out there...

Isn't there some Robert Frost poem or something like that... Walking Through the Woods on a Snowy Evening?. I vaguely remember having to memorize something like that in elementary school. That's what it feels like today.

It just won't stop snowing...

The woods are lovely, dark and deep... (ha! my elementary school education wasn't a waste!)

My brother wasn't even supposed to be here this year. He was due to deploy out to Iraq (his second deployment to that particular garden spot) at the beginning of December but his deployment orders changed and now he's leaving in March. He was in Iraq last year at Christmas, he was supposed to be in Iraq this year and he will be in Iraq next year for Christmas.
It's been REALLY nice having him around.
