I'm home now but I was stuck in Bangor, Maine for the past 3 days.

I was originally only supposed to spend 8 hours there.

Day 1: We arrive, crash at the hotel, wake up only to find out that our flight out of Maine isn't going to happen due to bad weather in the New York/Philadelphia/Maine area. Basically, the East Coast is screwed.

No prob right? We pick up the pilots, hop in the hotel van and scurry on over to the nearest movie theater to see 'There Will Be Blood.'

5 minutes into the movie scheduling calls to tell us that we have to be at the airport at 3:30 for a flight to Philadelphia with a connection to LaGarbage (That's LaGuardia for those of you not in the industry). So, bye bye movie, it would have been nice to even gotten to the part where there is actual dialogue. But alas, it was not to be.

On the ride back to the hotel (in order to frantically pack as 3:30 is cutting it awfully close) we look up the flight information on a Blackberry and find out that all the flights from Philadelphia into the New York area are canceled. No flight for us.

So we camped out in the hotel lobby and watched Jerry Springer. The pilots were still at the movie theater enjoying a movie I had paid for and was supposed to be enjoying.

Day 2: Get to the airport around 1 in order to catch our 3:30 flight. They just rolled our tickets over to the next day. 15 minutes prior to boarding the airline announces that due to a mechanical issue the plane is grounded and the flight is canceled. It is also, as it happens, the last flight of the day.

Back to the hotel. We went shopping to make ourselves feel better.

Day 3: Finally, Finally, Finally get on a plane. After dealing with the little issue of getting to the ticket counter and finding out that our tickets have been voided. Anyways, ticket firmly in hand and butt firmly in seat we are on our way. Or so we were supposed to be. The plane was supposed to leave at 6:30 in the morning but due to the lovely weather Maine enjoys we got to sit on the tarmac waiting for the plows to finish plowing the runway and for the plane to be deiced. I watched the minutes tick down on my watch and slowly came to the realization that we were not making our connecting flight in Boston.

Sure enough. We pull into the gate at Boston at 8:40. Our plane to LaGarbage departed at 8:30. The wonderful thing about Boston though is that flight to NYC leave every hour so the next plane is our salvation.

Of course, we end up circling NYC for 30 minutes before we can land due to too much air traffic.

Also, I'm getting sick, and if it is what everyone else had I'm writing a nasty letter to the pilot that showed up for the trip sick.

So that was my past 3 days.

If I didn't laugh, I would have cried.
