I don't normally go for infomercials, but I would totally order one of these!

Well that was good fun. I don't know why I'm so surprised as I've always enjoyed the Christmas Specials for their cheesy happy fun times (and mass death). Even the Christmas Specials that aren't considered all that great, I'm still sitting there squeeing into my fists. I've also watched all of Classic Who and enjoyed it so my taste may be quite suspect.

I think my one beef with the special is the same beef I had with The Pandorica Opens and The Big Bang. The whole premise of Father's Day established that you shouldn't touch yourself or BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN. Except now that Moff is in charge there's all kinds of older versions interacting with younger versions and everything is just fine. I know Doctor Who's canon is a bit wibbly wobbly, but really Father's Day wasn't THAT long ago.

Anyways. That's my one Harumph BAH HUMBUG moment.

Oh wait, I have another smaller moment. ENOUGH WITH THE LENS FLARES. I know Star Trek is pretty but do we really need them all over the place every time one is on a ship's bridge?

Otherwise Matt Smith is really clicking with me as the Doctor. I like him, I can finally see the Doctor in him although I don't think I love him as the Doctor just yet. Does it make sense to say that I LOVE the Doctor but only like certain versions of him? I DON'T KNOW HOW TO EXPLAIN IT PROPERLY.

That Christmas Special was just good fun though! I'm glad to see that even though the Production staff has changed, they've still kept the cheesy endings. EVERYTHING WAS SAVED BY THE POWER OF SONG.

LOL Doctor Who NEVER CHANGE.

I loved that he basically went on all these adventures condensed into a short amount of time for him and so much longer for someone else. Moffat really is good at handling the time aspect of Doctor Who. I love the fact that he got engaged and what sounds like married to Marilyn Monroe.

This man has banged Queen Elizabeth I and married Marilyn Monroe. I do not believe he is as awkward with women as he claims with that history!

Amy and Rory... THEY WERE ROLEPLAYING. She in her kissogram costume, he in his Roman outfit... that must be some honeymoon they embarked on - or tried to. Does Moff write stuff knowing that people are going to take these things and just fic the hell out of them? Because that was one of my first thoughts when I saw those outfits - oh the fic that's going to result from this...

There were some really great moments in the Special. The Doctor coming down the chimney, how completely distracted he is by shiny things. I can see him writing his name on things in crayon - which I think means I'm warming up to Smith.

Ten will always be my Doctor and I'll most likely remain biased for god knows how long, but I'm starting to like Eleven. It's okay though, I still love Two better than him anyways (that makes no sense, I know.)

In other news, my brother's girlfriend made me a fleecy throw blanket covered with robots for Christmas. HE NEEDS TO MARRY HER BECAUSE I TOTALLY APPROVE.

I quite enjoyed this particular Christmas special. And the Doctor always seems like a kid on Christmas. He just loves being the Doctor.

My personal fanwank is that the crack in the universe undid all the rules.

Finally, I can get my own Tardis!

Merry Christmas, I hope you had it off...

Sounds like the best way to me. I think I feel the same. For example I have a very low tolerance for Six personality but still accept him as the Doctor.

I did have it off. I was able to go home and hibernate with the kitteh while marathoning Doctor Who. If I didn't work for such a small company where I have good seniority there's no way this would have happened. As it is, I'm glad I got out of NYC when I did as all my Delta roommates were at the crashpad and the place was busting at the seams.

TARDIS travel is the only way to travel. I only fly on planes because it's as close as I'll come. Now that the Beeb is selling TARDIS's for a low price I shall be able to quit my job and travel ALL the time! YAY!

I'm glad you got what I was getting at. Watching all that Classic Who really drove home the point that some Doctors you will click with and love in ways one can barely describe and others will be nothing more than acquaintances. Six is pretty hard to stomach though. I've only run across one person who considered him THEIR Doctor and I think that had more to do with the Big Finish audio's than it did the actual show.

Sounds like an awesome way to spend Christmas. I had most of the day off except for a Halifax red eye. I was able to watch some DW as well. It would have been nice to be in Montreal but I still enjoyed my day.

I'm guessing you didn't have to deal with todays the weather?

I'd be willing to quit my job as well..Want to go dutch on a Tardis? I'd even settle to being a companion! XD

This person probably likes him because of the audios? Well Big Finnish audio's basically means no visual of disaster coat! XD
