I needs it

I have finally seen the first two episodes of The 4400 and I loved it.

I knew the basic plot, but it really wasn't what I was expecting. I was pleasantly suprised. I just wish I wasn't on reserve today, which means I am basically tied to my phone and can't go anywhere in case work calls and needs me on a flight. *goody* and all I really want to do is get myself down to Best Buy and get seasons 1 and 2 so I don't have to wait on Netflix. Wah.

I *need* more 4400.

Also, military flights are the best kind of flight. The marines were on that plane from Kuwait to Germany to JFK to California and they left it practically spotless when they finally got off. *boggles* Commercial passengers would have that thing trashed in under two hours.

Woohoo! Another convert. It's a fabulous show. While it's somewhat annoying that they do such a limited run, in doing so, they've managed to keep the quality of the writing and production really high.

A whole plane full of military men! Do they wear their uniforms on the plane? *flutters off to daydream*

I'd only seen about 10 minutes of it from channel surfing before a friend forced me to netflix it. I really should learn to listen to my friend instead of being forced to do things because she's always right. When I found out the disc only had 2 eps on it there was much gnashing of teeth.

And yes, they do wear their uniforms and they are polite, and sweet and just all around good guys (and some of them are very very pretty...) also, this was an armed flight so they all had their M-16's and handguns with them, which was very odd, but somehow adds to the appeal. *flutters off to daydream as well*

I don't watch it, but when I talked to Kavan yesterday, he said it had been picked up for another season. So, that's a plus.

Cool. And when you talked to Kavan yesterday... is that the Kavan who is Major Lorne or is it another Kavan? (because if it is the Major Lorne Kavan. I so hate you)

*grins* Yes, Kavan's in that show too. (Oh, man. The Blade story...*snickers*) He plays Garrity on 4400. He was Dragon Con, made a point of talking to me when I was waiting for Cliff Simon's auto (Ba'al). He's awesome like that. He just kinda...started talking. I was like perky after that. Preeeeeeeetty blue eyes.

I hate you. I really really do. Sooo insanely jealous. I read your account and was feeling the hate then, but dude. Kavan is just so pretty. And he just "kinda" started talking to you? Guh.

I'm going to go pout now *g*

But hey, more reason for me to go out and see more eps of that show.

Oh, I haven't even posted the auto accounts yet. *grins* The panels alone. They're nuts, the whole cast. Davis is always drunk, and apparently showed up at the Stargate party last night (damn my tired body forcing me home at 6:30!) for the drinks. *snort*

Here, I'll share a bit of the Kavan love. He was so sweet, and kind. Seriously. The most down to earth person ever. *huggles him* I was in line, and Kavan didn't have anyone around wanting his autograph (I was waiting for Cliff to come back), so he was just talking. *grins* I just want to make hug him tight.

[on my name]
Kavan: Is that with one s or two?
Me: Two. My daddy said so at least. Of course, he also thought it was original in 81, too.
Kavan: I worked with a Jessica, the lead in Blade. Sweet. Terrible show, horrible actress, dumb, but sweet.
Me: I tried watching it. I really did.
Kavan: I understand. I was on it.
Me: You'd be the only reason to watch it again.

I'd go get his autograph. Meh. Me wants. I still hate you *g*

Is he talking about Jessica Biel? because if he is that will have made my day. And I seriously need to get a Kavan of my own because he sounds like a nice guy (and a pretty one! I'm going to go console myself now with visions of the cute tattooed marine doing stretches on the plane yesterday...)

His was only 20 (so was Cliff's). I could have gotten my pic with him, but I was tired, hot, and sweaty. That would have not been pretty. But he was so pretty. And someone wanted his pic, but not the auto, and he let her take it. Honestly, he's amazing. And no, not the movie, but the show Blade. *grins* I want to see him on it. But only him. Cause he's hotttt!

I want my own Kavan. I'd just make him my brother, you know? The hot one, but he's so sweet you just can't not want to hug him. He was so pretty, massively so. All those marines have nothing on Kavan, I promise.

God, sounds like DragonCon would bankrupt me if I were ever to go. And at least you got to talk to him and bask in the pretty. So he was in the show. Why is there a Blade tv show is my question? I only saw the first movie and if if wasn't for the pretty that was Stephen Dorff I probably wouldn't have been able to sit all the way through it. Wasn't he in Titanic too? I swear he was... I must go check that.

I wouldn't make him my brother. He's hot. I'd jump *eg*

Dude! So not making me feel better *clings to visions of pretty marines*

I got four for 90, total. *grins* But so worth it. God, he's pretty. So...pretty. And nice. Did I mention the pretty?

Hey, I'd think my brother was hot, but he's just one of those really nice guys you just want to make feel at home (which, apparently he did. "Dark blue." - Con joke that Torri carried on today).

Because they want to continue the franchaise, I suppose. I don't know. It was really bad, and even he admitted it. *laugh* Dorff was good, but you know, I kinda liked the movie because it's all kick ass motions. He's in one of the recent episodes. So pretty. Haven't seen it. But still pretty!

I'm hating you because of the pretty.

I already have a brother that makes all the ladies hearts flutter. I don't need another one.

I'll take a pretty, nice guy. So many times they're nice guys but aren't pretty. It's nice to know that two qualities can merge in one man.

At least he's admitting it instead of doing the "it's a good show" song and dance, because honestly- why? Why not just bring back another BtVS spinoff instead? Why?! But then again, it does put money in Kavan's pocket and gives us eye candy to look at.

He needs to be in more SGA. I haven't seen him much in recent eps. That needs to change. Like Now.

*grins* Hate away, I met him. YOU DIDN'T. Nenenener.

*laugh* True enough. I have one of those myself. I'd just end up thinking of him like a brother. I tend to do that with the really pretty people I know. And yes, they totally can go together. Hell, there wasn't a single person there that wasn't super nice, on the panel. The whole reason I went. The pretty!

And he was just one of those guys that says things, without thinking (I'm sure the amount of alcohol consumed this weekend had something to do with that). He could understand why I couldn't watch it. It's so terrible. When I was looking for the 20 (which I found later), he kept watching me get this five out of my pocket. He said something about the money, I didn't catch what, but he was totally watching me. Probably because I talked to them like they were people, didn't do the nervous giggling thing. I fangirled them the way I talk to everyone. Randomly. Though, for some reason, he was asking if this was the first sci-fi show I've seen ("No, I watched Buffy straight through.") and I was talking about other fandoms I've been in, and mentioned HP and something about Cassie Claire (without naming her) and saying she was there. "Did you see her?" "No, I like what little sanity I have left." *grins* Seriously, I talked to him for the longest time.

He's been scheduled for both 4400 and SGA at the same time. He had to do 4400 instead. He told [livejournal.com profile] natacup82 he would be back on the last half of it. So prettttty.

(happy marine thoughts, happy marine thoughts. happy marine thoughts)

You're not alone in that. I tend to make all guys my buddies. I completely thwart my mothers 'get rina a boyfriend' plans at every turn with my guy friend thing. Mauahahah. I'm glad they're nice. I've noticed that the sci-fi world tends to breed more down to earth people.

Poor Kavan is all just like "autograph? autograph?" awww. He was on Buffy, he's been on like every show (I looked him up on IMDB and he really has been on just about everything). And it's good you don't do the fangirl thing, that can get kinda irritating. I'd much rather talk to someone then just squeal incoherently. Now I'm having Galaxy Quest flashbacks. Yeesh. I still hate you btw.

Yay more SGA! It's just not right not having Major Lorne around pulling Sheppards ass out of the fire and being the voice of reason.

Why can't the boys want us for the whole relationship angle, not just friends? *sighs* Especially the superhot ones that AREN'T gay. Kay? Kay. I say they should make it happen. Because I said so. And the whole lot was seriously so drunk at times. *laugh* They're very down to earth. They really appreciate the fans (as they told us like 10 times at least, lol). They're really thankful for us, and coming was fun for them. As he said.

Oh, he wasn't alone all the time. Just certain times, like right after a panel. He was so awesome. I want one of my own damnit. *nods* Indeed.

And fangirling like a normal person is the best thing ever. It was so cool. I think they liked it. All of them like talking to us, getting to know us. *hugs them tight* And Galaxy Quest reference why? And you should totally hate me since the other sigs I got were Cliff, Torri, and Rachel.

Who was he on Buffy? Dude, that show was so awesome. I'm so not surprised to learn that.

Boys suck. They seem to think that girls should do all the pursuing and all the work, and I don't play that game, so it seems to go beyond them. Oh well. And I'd like to see them drunk, I'm guessing they're happy drunks. Meh, you sound like you had so much fun. I so feel like throwing a childish trantrum consisting mostly of "I wanna go!!"

There's a part on Galaxy Quest with the travelling band of fangirls who desperatly want the two leads together and just did the whole tittering, squealing thing. God I love that movie. And you suck.

I don't know who he was on Buffy, I think it was after I quit watching. It was the ep "Reptile Boy" and I'm going completely blank on it. And really, he's been on everything - well, just about everything scifi it seems.

Boys do suck! They need to start looking at me. Again, it bears repeating: The Hot Boys. I don't need anymore geeky ones. Got plenty of those this weekend. I just wanted a hot boy to talk to me, damnit.

And dude, they are SO happy drunks. *laugh* Completely happy ones. Goofy. Don gets a bit choked up occasionally, but yes. They're very dirty minded, too. Could be the drink thing though. I adored them. Seriously, they're cool actions would make me a fangirl if I wasn't already. Next time? Totally get a hotel room to go back to when partying is over. Throw the tantrum and come next year. Do both! *grins* Maybe the pretty will be back!

Ah, I forgot about that part of GQ. *grins* And yes, I suck, because I'm way cooler. Oh! I forgot the Claire Rankin part. I didn't get tickets (for the bigger names) when I bought my pics, and I had to cut in line to get some so I could go back into the other line, and I was like "I feel so bad for doing this but you didn't give me the tickets." And she was watching, and she went something like "they won't care" (joking of course since she is, and the guy handing out the tickets was). And I'm like "I feel so bad, though. I'm Southern. We're raised to not do that." She just laughed. Seriously, famous people? So don't imitidate me.

"Reptile Boy" so not descriptive on the name considering the show. *laugh* I watched every episode at least once. Maybe he likes the scifi fans?

*cries* *hiccups* *cries some more*

Another redeaming factor about military flights, lots of hot boys looking to chat with girls. My life is so sad. I need a life. Help!

I think I might just give in to my tantrum-like ways and go. I was supposed to go to DragonCon YEARS ago, but that feel through. And hey next year, I'll have flight benefits, so free tickets. Ohh, the possibilities. I must ponder this some more. I don't want to miss the pretty drunks. :)

I'm apparently completely oblivious when it comes to famous people (so sayeth the roomie) I don't notice them, nor do I care. Plus, the whole incoherent squealy thing just makes people seem stupid and if I did meet a famous person I cared to talk to I'd rather come off as smarter then that.

And Southern people win at life. Seriously.

Scifi has the coolest fans. And I don't care that people mock scifi fans endlessly, we're just so cool that they're jealous.

*mocks your crying* There's no crying in fandom!

True, lots of hot boys...but they don't stick around long. *grins*

You should come! It's the first con I've ever been to, and disorganized as it was (at times) there was a cool aspect too. This was the first year they had a Gate track. I'm so glad they did it (and in under three months). The pretty drunks are so worth it. Especially when Rachel and Cliff were doing mock come hither looks. *laugh* They're PRETTY.

I wouldn't know most famous people from anyone else (though, I did spot Mayhew and I don't watch SW, and I didn't say at thing. Just let him chill out and be bored). I just kinda meet them with the expectation of them being normal, like us, while doing that as their career and for something they love. The squealy thing..I don't get it. I didn't do it. I really don't. I just talked to them like I would anyone. You know? I was raised by stories of famous people, and to me, they're just regular folk.

We always win. And apparently could move to Canada and be happy. Nice to know that. Might have to do it one day. Polite people rock.

I think we have the coolest fans because we don't take ourselves seriously. We know we're great big dorks and just don't care. That's part of it, I think.

*CRIES* I'm not ashamed of my pain!

They may not stick around long, but they're a hell of a lot of fun to flirt with. And a girl needs to know that she's not always the guy-friend, so there is that.

I've never been to a convention. I almost went to a Star Trek convention once, but that was before I'd been exposed to star Wars and in the end I didn't go, so I figure that's forgiveable and dude, mock come-hither looks. good lord. Just as long as there is still an SGA being aired this time next year I will be a happy camper and so in attendance.

My roommate spots famous people all the time walking around Manhattan. I just blunder my way through and don't notice anybody. It works for me and I figure the celebrities like it that way. And I think that a lot of people forget that they're actual human beings and would prefer to be talked to as if they were actual human beings. It's a hard concept I know, but some people seem to have difficulties with it.

Politness wins. More people should try it sometime.

We revel in our dorkdom.

*snort* Well, that's what happens when you don't show up, now doesn't it?

Agreed. A girl needs to know that. Even not serious flirting, just off the cuff makes you feel all sparkly. All my guy friends, hell, my friends period, are all over the country and out of range. *sigh*

DragonCon is pretty good, according to Cliff (which granted he said because they were interviewing him, but he's pretty geniune in everything he says). They had a panel of Trek and Gate actors today (Torri, Rachel, Claire left half way through to catch their flights, and then some blonde chick that was on TNG left right after so only the men were left). Missed some of it. After all, I had to wake up. FLYBOYS, omg. Looks so good. Sorry. I saw the trailer at the con yesterday and it just played on the tv.

Oh, I have a feeling next year they'll come back. At least some of them, because they had fun. You could just *tell*. Oh, man. They're so dirty minded, you don't even notice. You should have been there this year. Sooo much fun. "Dark blue." Oh, god. I'll be saying that for weeks. Or the bit about Rachel's breakfast yesterday and Kavan's (I think) response. Apparently they left in the middle of shooting to do this. Rachel told me that. *grins* They suck rock.

What? You mean, they're normal people? You jest! They're all robots! Don't you know that? I'm just glad I didn't turn teeny. *grins* Honestly, I don't know if I've seen anyone famous around the town, not related to this because I focus on what I'm doing (like not running into things). I figure they're on vacation right now too. So if it's not official? I don't speak to them. That whole politeness thing again. Miss Manners.

We revel well! And do it in a loud fashion. But we don't bash other fandoms within the genre either.

Date: 2006-09-05 04:17 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] elrina753.livejournal.com
In my defense, I didn't even know it was going on.

It does make a girl feel sparkly. It's fun. All my friends are scattered across the country. I sympathize. It sucks muchly.

I've heard good things about DragonCon in years past. And my worry is mainly that I'm hoping SG1's cancellation won't hurt the viewing figures for SGA (because trust me, Skiffy lives off those figures) even though sGA is the better show in my opinion. I'm not sad to see Daniel Jackson and Dam CArter disappear, although I will miss Vala. That being said, I have no clue how the bring back SG1 campaign is working out. We shall see, but then again, the conventions are still having Firefly panels so It's probably a sound bet there will be Stargate panels for years to come.

I so love playing 'Spot the Star Trek actor' when I was Stargate. It amuses me to no end. And apparently I need to go because I really don't get the jokes. So Confused.

Isn't Flyboys a movie? Does it have James Franco in it? Because if that's a yes I saw the trailer and omg, so there.

No! They're actually robots who want to be harassed during every minutes of every day. Didn't you get the memo? I have better things to do then to celebrity watch. And I really don't want to know what they do with their lives. And ditto the politeness thing. People shouldn't be all up in their business.

Hell, most of us are in multiple fandoms anyways. *g* Revel in the Scifi Luv!

Dude, you're just pitiful. It's every Labor Day weekend.

I want to meet a guy (cute, hot, adorable) that's got a damned brain. Sorry. Or not gay, which I think one guy was.

I hadn't heard about the con (yeah, sad innit?) until last year and I couldn't go then. This year I could and did. Had a blast too. Going back next year, without a doubt. They're planning on making at least three SG-1 movies, according to Don, who was very happy to say that. MGM has said the Stargate franchaise is only second to James Bond in the amount of money it brings in. I would count on those movies coming through at least. And Sci-Fi? SUCKS. Did you know it was either him or Janet that had to die? Sci-Fi made them kill off a regular. Nice, huh? Also? The woman that played her is like a daughter to him, so he had to watch his kid die, so to speak. She calls his wife Mom. The Gates have a huge base. I saw more BDU outfits then what's on the show half the time. Same with the expedition tan outfits.

*grins* They talked about that. The Blonde Chick (dude I'll look her name up one of these days) was saying she's apparently the only one that hasn't guest starred. Davis was very gracious and thanked the actors for helping bring their experience to the set and making SG-1 grow that way. Seriously, a class act kind of guy. Drunk off his ass half the time but class act even then.

"Dark Blue" was Kavan's answer for his favorite color (in a tongue-in-cheek Tigerbeat Q&A) since Cliff had already claimed blue a couple people ahead. And then for the next couple questions he just bounced off "dark blue" as his answer. Torri picked it up and said it today. *grins* They have so much fun there. Breakfast foods story will have to wait for a conscious me to explain.

Flyboys was produced by Dean Devlin, the guy that did the movie. Apparently they're looking into making those movies too. It's so damn good on that large screen. You'll be amazed.

Dude, I knew they were robots. Hello. Told you, remember? Gah, why would they want some downtime on their vacation? Honestly, you'd think they were people or something the way you're talking! I don't care what they eat or the small things. Humans need some privacy, even the robot looking kind. I figure if I ever get famous for whatever reason, I don't want someone in my life so I extend the courtesy now. *shakes head* Only right.

*laugh* We're so multifandoms it's sad. I know I am at least.

This is where I offer excuses to being completely oblivious to that type of stuff. I am pathetic. Then again, with my current job, I barely even know what day it is out of the week.

I like those parameters. Where are men like that? Seriously.

It brings in almost as much money as James Bond and has a huge fanbase. Why is Skiffy cancelling it again? I need someone to explain this to me so it makes sense because I am baffled. Also, Skiffy needs to BUTT THE HELL OUT. Farscape only started getting a little less excellent in Season 4 when Skiffy started getting demanding. Not that Heroes wasn't an amazing episode, but STILL. *glares at Skiffy*

I never did get the whole dressing up fascination thing when it comes to cons. Although, if I had stormtrooper armor you'd have to pry it out of my cold dead hands and I'd probably wear it everywhere (has visions of walking through manhattan dressed like that...) oh yeah, EVERYWHERE.

Blonde chick.. blonde chick... um, which Star Trek series was she? And Stargate really is the spiritual child of Star Trek. Just with more aggression and explosions.

The answer to everything "Dark Blue." I like that. And I will wait patiently for the breakfast food story.

Ah, I must see it then. And doesn't Dean Devlin want to make Stargate movies completely unrelated to the series? I know he's extremely bitter over the series and hates it with a passion. (I used to be that way when it first aired, but they sucked me in!) cause a spinoff not based off the series would be really odd and confusing.

I think the Cruise-bot is malfunctioning. Someone needs to go fix it.

Well, you know. I don't notice dates either. *grins*

Maybe all the good guys are famous or something. I should have jumped Kavan when I had the chance. Damnit. Stupid ethics.

Apparently the news about the Gate franchise came out when the cancellation news hit. Like almost immediately. New heads of MGM are not happy. Never ask to have tv exec speak explained. It's very hard. Though, they had a great fake TV ad on DragonCon Tv. *laugh* It was Wolfram and Hart related, I think. Davis hated the way they made them chose to kill someone. It was so freaking bogus. I mean, what the hell? And for them to have to kill his kid practically. Ugh. I have my Farscape DVDs! I need to watch them when I'm awake though. I can't wait.

I never got the dressing up thing either. There were sooo many Jack Sparrows. And Fifth Element girls. They were missing some important bits. Some we called "Goth ho"s. They looked god awful. Ass cheeks hanging out. So bad. There were A LOT of Stargate outfits. It was kinda cool actually. There quite a few Storm Trooper ones too.

The Next Generation. Tasha, maybe? That was the Blonde chick I think. I don't know, I watched a couple DS9s and that was it. Trek was never my thing.

Yes, everything was "dark blue." Just answer that way in random conversations. See what happens. And the breakfast story. Okay, you know that Rachel is a healthy eater, right? She had granolas, some berries, you know...the healthy stuff. And she said Teyla would have that and the stout tea (the questions were what did you eat for breakfast and what your character eat for breakfast Tigerbeat Q&A), Then, the next couple questions, I think it was Kavan (maybe not, but I think it was his voice) who said "You'll just say granola and fruit" when talking about her answer. *snort* I don't remember the context, just that he was oddly random.

Dean was bitter, from what I understand, but is pretending to not be. He was all "Yay fans. I wish I could be there but we're promoting Flyboys right now." *snort* He's going to finish them out (maybe) from the original movie. They're saying 3 SG-1 movies, and the other two (possibly) in the future. Separate things though. Dean's always seen it as a trilogy.

*laugh* Cruisebot, huh?
