Did I just now discover that the new Ipod needs Mac OS 10.4 to work?

Is my computer running Mac OS 10.3?
You'd better believe it
Did my old Ipod just stage a rise from the grave?
Of course it did...
For the record, I'm still keeping the new Ipod.
