I've had these put together and locked for... a hell of a long time. As I an a voracious reader of fic... I figured it's about time I let them loose on the world. So I give to you: Fanfiction Recs! I am a massive fan of the hurt/comfort genre and when it comes to the Doctor there is not nearly enough. There had to be consequences of what the Doctor went through in 42 and this fic does a fantastic job of dealing with them and the Doctor's constant need to keep going

It's a work in progress but it's oh so good. Timey Wimey problems and two very different Roses dealing with two very familiar Doctors. I especially love how much is revealed about the Doctor and Rose and how far they've come based on their interactions with their younger counterparts

I avoided this story for the longest time. Mainly because I have seen the Doctor Who Movie with Eight and it's something I would rather forget (I can never get those hours of my life back). This fic, on the other hand, was not what I expected. It's so much better and so beautifully crafted.

This fic is wonderful. Not only does it have the h/c that I love so much on top of all the smut, but it's a wonderful plotty fic that happens to be so much more.

Wolves of Time by Emery Board
Rose and the Doctor find themselves on a small, completely hospitable planet with no unfortunate quirks or foibles --oh, except for the reigning dictator and their policy of subjugation of the so-called "lesser sex". But apart from that, they're wonderful!

I tend to be wary of fics that have multiple Doctors, but this one did a fantastic job of showing that regardless of the face the Doctor will always be THE Doctor and that he does have a type when it comes to his companions

Dean is always meeting girls. He's very good at it and some girls stand out more then others. This fic adds nuance to the years Dean spent on his own before the series started.

My love for this fic knows no bounds. The author does such a fantastic job of taking Dean out of his normal world, taking away everything he knows about himself and still keeping him Dean.

Dean finds himself in the clutches of a fae, only to find the aftermath's more difficult that he expected when a price has been put on his head. There's only so much help a father can give...

This fic is an interesting insight into how Dean and John would have functioned pre-series. I'm especially fond of the fae aspect and Dean's connections to them (and John's reactions)

Crossovers

Agents of Fortune by Karasu Yurei
In which Manticore wants Sam for their own purposes and X5494, Alec, is the perfect weapon to use against him.

Out of the multitudes of DA/SPN crossover fic this one stands out as being one of the most well thought out and plotted. I'm especially fond of how it doesn't jump into the plot, but works up to it

In the weeks after Jim leaves strange things happen in Scranton.

The Doctor has a way or rushing into someone's life and sweeping them up and this fic is such a perfect example of that.

I've read a few fics out there dealing with the Battlestar Galactica stumbling upon the 13th Colony in the form of the SGC and so far this fic has been the most plausible. Well written with plenty of setup. I'm hoping it will continue to be updated in the future.

I will be the first to admit that I never saw an SPN/Doctor Who crossover fic as working. This fic proved me wrong. Dean is essentially Dean, even taken out of his weird little world and placed into the world of the Doctor. It's a mash up of two worlds I didn't think would meet and it works so well.

This fic is amazing. Post-Runaway Bride the Doctor is looking for an escape. A post-Serenity Mal is looking to make some money and keep his head down. It's two verses that work so well together and every character is so perfectly realized.
