Twilight has hit the planes: as a movie we are playing for the troops as they go home.

Haven't they suffered enough?

Of course I found out this information whilst standing in Cabin A in front of all our passengers and apparently I could not control my reaction to the point that the first 8 rows of the plane were cracking up.

Apparently I have very strong Twilight related feelings. None of them positive.

Although I do like that one soldier called it the Dawson's Creek of Vampire Movies (very true) and when I passed him quietly confided that he had seen the movie and could I please not pass that information around as he found it embarrassing.

So, not only did the passengers get me started on a Twilight rant (and laughed at every minute of it) I carried that rant into the forward galley where I proceeded to tell my coworkers all about it (until they escaped to other galleys) and having a captive audience in the cockpit ended up unburdening myself on the subject up there.

I don't think they knew what hit them.

It's going to be a long long 2 months of Twilight related rants methinks.

They really do not think about what soldiers will like when they choose the movies. It goes more along the lines of "new release?! Woo! Shiny!"

Although, I have seen plenty of Soldiers/Airmen/Seamen/Grunts reading Twilight. Almost all of them have been women.

Twilight does not belong in comic book stores. It should be anathema there.

But...but...if they want a new release, damn even Chris Rock is better. *sigh* Twilight is too mindboggling for people who live in Mind Boggling Central.

Oh, lord. Well, if it's help, my nifty college educated police officer neighbor? Is in love with the series. I have no words. I mean, she named her dog after Tom Sawyer...and she loves Twilight. Like she thinks something good's gonna happen even though she's seen the movie.

No it doesn't! And those cutouts are like...6 feet fall! So wrong. So, so wrong.
