elleflies | The Pittsburgh Zoo Picspam

As I am off to see The Boy in less then a week, these pictures were at the top of my insanely large "to edit" list. He was perceptive enough to figure out that I'm a bit of an animal nut (not a hard deduction on anyone's part) so Day 2 of our two day date involved me getting camera happy at The Pittsburgh Zoo.

There were many cute (and not so cute) things there to be seen. Like baby elephants

To a baby tiger! The spring baby boom hit Pittsburgh hard. This little guy routinely pops up on Yahoo's Most Emailed Photo's page.

The Amur Tiger (otherwise known as the Siberian Tiger). Also, this would be one of the parents of the little guy above. Apparently mom wasn't producing enough milk so as nature dictates she abandoned her cub. Thankfully he was born in a zoo with zookeepers willing to raise him (and thankfully not a German zoo where they throw them to the mercy of the press. I may have some issues...)

I love this bear. First of all, he was HUGE. Look at the size of those paws! Secondly, he was so over it. Whatever it is or was, he's over it and way too cool to be bothered by anything else.

I love jellyfish. I could watch them all day, and I love to photograph them. Even though getting a good photo is a pain in the ass and this is the first one I've managed to pull off. The lens I have on my camera isn't exactly good for low light situations.

Very swishy. I'm quite fond of the movement here.

Another little guy I'm quite fond of. I'm not exactly sure what he is, but he was just hanging out, waiting for his photo-op. Fish so rarely behave when it comes to pictures. It was nice to find one who could take direction.

I actually prefer other zoos to the Pittsburgh Zoo. It was lovely and I enjoyed the exhibits (especially the babies) but I wasn't too fond of the setup. I may be a tad picky when it comes to zoos though...
